Tai Meshi - Rainbow Trout



Today Chez's catch is Rainbow trout. I recently read recipe of Tai Meshi, basically it is japanese version of claypot rice. I used fish stock as the soup base, sliced mushroom and sliced kombu. I grilled the fish fillet first so that it is less fishy.

Hmmmm tai meshi look simple n yummy too....I wonder how to cook it...is it like onogiri....cook the rice n mix all the ingredient into it?

Hi yummy,

i first grill the fish so that it is not too fishy and then in the claypot in the uncooked rice, fish stock, slice wakame, abit of rice wine, and then it is half cooked, put the grilled fish in and mix them around.
